Meet Helga
Helga reads a draft the way the scorer will, then tells the student the one move to make next.
She never writes for a student. Every note names the exact spot, says what to type next, and gives the why in rubric words a kid can repeat: on prompt, text evidence, author's purpose, effect on the reader. One thing at a time, in that order, and the questions students ask most are answered on the device for free.

Read my writing is the only thing that spends tokens. While drafting, only the paragraph the student is in travels. While revising or editing, the whole essay travels, capped. Six reads per student unless you change it, one a minute, and the same text is never sent twice.
The read uses a small, fast model with a short capped reply and a cached instruction set. A whole class working a full period costs cents, not dollars.
Every read is logged with the essay. Open a submission and the Coaching tab shows what Helga told each student.
Essays auto-save as students type and sync to their session, so a student can pick up tomorrow with the resume code from any device.
